Kaweka Foods acquired by iconic New Zealand company Tasti Products Ltd |
April 2011 |
With over 75 years of experience not only in New Zealand but also Australia and beyond, Tasti is excited by the opportunities that lie ahead for the excellent products made by Kaweka Foods.
Tasti Products has been New Zealand owned and operated since 1932 and is passionate about producing top quality food. Starting with the traditional baking products Tasti is loved for, the company has a proud history of innovation that has led them to manufacture the first muesli bar in the New Zealand market – the iconic Snak log. Tasti has never looked back and is now the largest manufacturer of nutritional snack bars in the New Zealand market as well as other products including baking, snacking, cereals, meals and oils under their own brands Tasti, Sunfield and Kaweka, under licence for Weight Watchers and contract manufacturing for local and export customers. | KAWEKA LAUNCHES "MEAL FOR 1"! |
Nov 2007 |
Many of our loyal diners have commented that it's a shame that Kaweka couldn't manufacture their own microwaveable rice to Kaweka's demonstrated high standards.
Now with our new international standard plant opening in Hastings, we can.
Kaweka proudly presents "Meal for 1". Initially three in the range at an attractive $5.49 (RRP), "Meal for 1" serves a 200gm portion of Meat, Vegetables and Sauce with a 200gm sachet of microwaveable ethnic Rice as an accompaniment. A hearty complete meal, previously not possible, but now becoming available through good supermarkets nationwide.
| KAWEKA OPENING NEW FACILITY! |
June 2007 |
After the success in the New Zealand Supermarket trade it quickly became apparent that Kaweka would be unable to supply it's first export customer. The plant was rapidly becoming full with just the domestic business!
A decision was made by the Board of Directors to bring the planned new plant forward by a year and to put the next phase of Kaweka into reality now. The new plant will be commissioned at 1454 Omahu Road (five minutes inland from the old plant) mid June with the first export order rolling out the doors less than a month later!
| KAWEKA at Parliment |
February 2007 |
Kaweka presented it's wares to MP's and guests at the first ever Hawkes Bay Expo at the Beehive.
As part of an initiative by local MP's Chris Tremaine and Craig Foss, Kaweka stood shoulder to shoulder with other Hawkes Bay food and wine producers to present the delights possible from this beautiful corner of New Zealand.
| KAWEKA at the Expos |
2006 - 2007 |
Kaweka has presented at over 20 Expos nationally to date. We have sampled to over 40,000 people so far.
Feedback has been excellent with many now commenting that Kaweka is already in their pantry and in use as everyday meals, meals at work, on boats, camping, tramping and as emergency rations (although they always eat them and need to buy more!).
